Author notes: Okay, I was allowed to let it be another movie, so here it is. ;)

Jess padded to the door, reluctantly opening it. She wasn’t in the mood for visitors. As a matter of fact, she wasn’t in the mood for anything. She just wanted to curl up on her couch and wait for this to be over.

She was surprised, however, and definitely propitiated, when she looked into the face of her visitor. Trying to give him a smile, she mumbled, “Hey.”

His face was worried. “Hey,” he greeted back. “I just wanted to see how you are. You look pale.”

“I’m fine,” she told him, knowing he wouldn’t believe her a single word. “Or, well, at least it’s not as bad as it looks.”

“Can I… do anything?” he wanted to know.

Jess smiled at him. This was cute, really, even for him. “I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do,” she replied. “Dysmenorrhoea.”

Becker frowned at her. He honestly had no idea what she was talking about.

“Cramps,” she mumbled, placing a hand over her stomach. “Once every month I’m just not able to go to work.”

His eyebrows shot up in surprise. “I didn’t know it could be that bad.”

“Yeah, well, I wish I wouldn’t know, either,” she mumbled, stumbling back to her couch. “I’m sorry, but I have to lie down again.”

Frowning worriedly at her, Becker stepped inside the apartment locking the door behind him. Did she even want company or did she want to be left alone? She hadn’t exactly sent him away…

“Is there… nothing you can do to make it better?” he asked.

“Warmth helps,” she told him tiredly. “But I… I can’t make myself go to the kitchen and get the hot water bottle ready.”

Nodding, he disappeared for a second. Fortunately, her kitchen was very organized. It didn’t take him long to get the bottle ready for use.

Walking back to the living room, he carefully lifted her left arm to place the hot water bottle against her stomach. “I hope it’s not too hot,” he mumbled.

“Thank you,” Jess whispered, refusing to open her eyes. “It’s wonderful.”

Smiling, he took a blanket from one of the chairs and spread it over her. “Anything else I can do?”

“Can you turn on the DVD?” she asked. “I’m not tired enough to sleep, so I need something to… take my mind off.”

Nodding, he took the case from her coffee table, smiling at the picture. “10 things I hate about you,” he read out loud. “Nice.”

“You don’t even know the movie,” she argued.

“Of course, I do,” Becker objected, putting the DVD into the player and switching on the TV. “It wouldn’t have been my first choice, but there are movies that are much worse.”

Mumbling something he didn’t understand, Jess reached for one of the pillows and propped it under her head. She grimaced. It wasn’t comfortable, but it would do.

Smiling, Becker went back to the kitchen, rummaging it for a few seconds. When he returned, the movie had just started.

“Here, that always helps my sisters when they’re in pain,” he said, placing the cup of tea on the coffee table.

“Thank you,” Jess whispered. “For everything. You're too good to be true, you know that? But you can stop nursing me now, I’ll be fine.”

Grinning, he lifted her head to slide under her so that she could use his lap as a pillow. “What if I like nursing you?” he whispered, gently stroking her hair.

“Don’t say that too loud,” she replied. “I might get used to this, and then you’ll have to stay here and watch love movies with me every four weeks.”

He raised his head to watch the movie, but didn’t say anything in return thinking that there were much less enjoyable ways to spend a Friday afternoon.
